P S Sreedharan Pillai takes oath as Goa Governor, in presence of Chief Justice Bombay HC

P S Sreedharan Pillai on Thursday (July 15)  took oath as the Governor of Goa, replacing  B S  Koshyari, who was holding the additional charge of the state along with Maharashtra. The Oath of Office was administered to Sreedharan Pillai by Chief Justice of Bombay High Court Justice Dipankar Dutta in the presence of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.

Talking to reporters after the swearing-in ceremony, the chief minister welcomed the new governor and said that his guidance would be sought on different issues related to the state. Pillai has previously served as a President of the Kerala BJP state unit. Pillai was a senior BJP leader from Kerala and was serving as a Governor of Mizoram.

Pillai was appointed as the Governor of Goa on July 6 by President Ram Nath Kovind in the major Union Cabinet reshuffle and replaced Bhagwat Singh Koshyari, who  had been holding the additional charge as the governor of Goa since August 2020 after the transfer of Satya Pal Malik from the post.
