Kolkata: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee has attacked the Modi government. On Thursday, Mamta Banerjee said that while rotating the target, the Modi government closed Netaji's Planning Commission. We have a great respect for Netaji. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose had strongly criticized the Hindu Mahasabha while addressing a public meeting in Jhargram on 12 May 1940, these views are very relevant today.

CM Mamta Banerjee said, 'I know that we will not get the kind of leader that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was. He stood against the Hindu Mahasabha. He spoke of secularism. The BJP changed and abolished the Planning Commission implemented by Netaji. During the freedom struggle, Netaji said that, 'Tum Mujhe Khoon Do, Main Tumhe Aazadi Dunga'. Forget all this, BJP is sucking people's blood.

PM Modi has also recalled Netaji saying that 'India will always be grateful for Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's bravery and his contribution in opposing colonialism. He always stood for the progress and interest of his Indian comrades. PM Modi also shared a letter written by Netaji's father Janakinath Bose during his birth on Twitter.
