Kolkata: WestBengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee visited the site of the train accident in Odisha's Balasore. Meanwhile, CM Mamata also spoke to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw while taking information about the accident, while assuring all possible cooperation to the Railways and Odisha government and said that the matter should be investigated properly.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased in the accident. "I want to tell the railways that nothing will happen until the road is cleared, but there is definitely something in it. It should be investigated. She said that three bogies are still lying in the same way. The death toll could be 500. She said that the Bengal government will provide all possible help. Those who have been injured and are not getting treatment here. He will be treated on coming to Bengal. The state government will provide all possible assistance."
