CM addressed the bus owner organizations and said that buses will not run due to no increase in fare, there is no time to say yet. The last three months have been difficult for the bus owners and the next three months may be difficult. Just consider the social responsibility of the owner organization and provide service.
In his statement, General Secretary of Joint Council of Bus Syndicates Tapan Kumar Banerjee said - 'Such a statement is unfortunate. Bus owners are not as rich as Tata-Birla. They are also like normal people and run their own family by providing bus service. We have been running buses for the last one month by taking losses, but for how many days buses can be run by putting money from our pocket?
Apart from this, Banerjee further said that "Government has lured us into lockdown three times. First, it was said by the government that we should increase the fair by ourselves. After that, a proposal to increase the fair was asked and then a regulatory committee was formed to increase the fare. It has been two weeks since the committee was constituted but no report has been presented so far. We will wait for the report of the committee till Friday, after which we will meet on Saturday and take a final decision on the bus service."
