A shocking case has emerged from West Bengal. In Krishnaganj police station area of Nadia district, a 35-year-old man hurled acid at his distant niece and seriously injured her. The victim had refused to accept her sexual desires and the police said the incident took place on Thursday when the 25-year-old victim was sleeping. According to reports, the victim lives with her parents and five-year-old son. The woman has been admitted to the hospital after the incident and the accused has been arrested.

There are reports that the accused, being a distant relative and neighbor, often used to come to the victim's parents' house. In this case, the police said that she has not been with her husband for some reason for the past six months. That is why the accused made a sexual offer to the woman several times but the woman rejected it.
On the other hand, the police said that the accused got angry with the woman's refusal and entered the house through the door on Thursday night when everyone was sleeping and put acid on the woman's body and face. The child sleeping near the mother has not been injured in the incident. The case now seeks to bring the strictest possible punishment.
