In Gohpur, a woman was thrashed to death by her husband over a family dispute. Locals allege that Priya Mahato, the wife, used to have regular fights with her husband for unknown reasons to them. Govind Mahato, her husband, had a similar argument with Priya on Monday night, and the verbal argument quickly escalated into a violent fight.
Govind became angry and began beating his wife with a steel pipe, causing severe internal damage. Neighbors rushed, but she had already sustained serious injuries. Despite the fact that she was immediately taken to a hospital by neighbours, she died there from her injuries.
The police were informed by the neighbours and Priya’s family and the police are investigating the matter. Govind was reported to be on the run till the filing of this report.
