A man started pretending to be a cop in front of his family and fiancee after he failed the Delhi Police examination. Ashish Chaudhary, the accused was arrested by the police from Sikanderpur village in north-eastern Delhi on Saturday 13th July. Choudhury is also accused of defrauding people of money. The accused was a resident of Harsh Vihar Colony, trapping people and extorting money.

Police seized a homegrown pistol, cartridges, a uniform, a motorcycle and Rs 25,000 in cash from him. During interrogation, he confessed to intimidating people and defrauding them. Superintendent of Police (SP), Shlok Kumar said that after taking the cash, he asked people to come to the nearest police station to collect it.

Last month, Choudhury allegedly grabbed a man and checked his bag. He was carrying cash from the bag and asked the person to take his cash tulsi from the Niketan police post. However, when the man reached the post, the police personnel posted there said that the officer he was looking for was not posted there.
