Kolkata: The whole country is under corona lockdown. Meanwhile, a heartbreaking incident has come to light in West Bengal. In North Kolkata, a father got angry and killed his handicapped son. The son's fault was that he refused to wear a mask. Later, the father himself reached the police station and surrendered. He told the whole incident in front of the police officers and confessed his crime.

According to information received from sources, a senior official said that around 7 pm, the accused came to the Shyampukur police station and said that he had strangled his son to death around 5:30 pm. As soon as the accused surrendered to the police, the police station in-charge ran towards the scene with his defection and took the body in his possession. The body was sent for postmortem. A murder case is being registered against the father and the investigation of the case is going on.

According to the investigating officials, the accused did not have a proper relationship with his son. They quarreled almost regularly. The accused is a retired employee of a private firm and his son was unemployed. He was disabled since childhood. For the past few days, the father and son had a regular quarrel. The father had said that whenever he goes out of the house, wearing a mask, the son would refuse. Due to this, the dispute started on Saturday and the father angrily killed his son. He strangled his son with a cloth.

On March 12, the West Bengal government made it mandatory for all citizens to wear masks, especially in public places. Some areas of northern and central Kolkata have been declared as red zones, as many people have been found infected with corona from those areas.
