Chennai:  In a shocking case, Police have registered a case against six people, including the father of a girl, for abetment to suicide of a boy who had united two lovers in marriage.  

According to the reports, The victim, Senthil, who belonged to Kaattuppudur in Trichy district, was employed in a petrol pump in Namakkal. Senthil’s sister’s son lives in the Valayapatti area and he was in love with a girl in that area. The girl also loved him, it is learnt. As per report victim arranged to have the lover- couple married. Coming to know of this, the parents and relatives of both the boy and the girl have been opposing this and have picked out Senthil to a fight.

 On Wednesday it is reported that the people from both sides reached Senthil’s residence and after an altercation, threatened to kill him.

Dejected at this, Senthil poured kerosene over himself and tried to immolate and commit suicide. Neighbours tried to save him and took him to the Namakkal government hospital where he died during the course of the treatment.

As per the reports, Police have registered a complaint against the girl’s father Jeyaraman and five others for abetment to suicide. The investigation is underway.
