Srinagar: A man who sold fake degrees, diplomas and other documents of universities and education boards of other states have been arrested by the Jammu police. A police spokesman said that Ravi Kumar, a resident of Kotli Gala, has been arrested from the RS Pura area of Jammu. 100 fake documents were also recovered from the accused.
He told that Sunny, a resident of Nai Basti, had given a complaint against Ravi Kumar. The police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). According to the information, accused Ravi used to charge huge amounts from people in exchange for these fake degrees and diplomas. Ravi Kumar used to charge Rs 25,000 per diploma and mark sheet and Rs 45,000 per degree.
While preparing fake degrees and mark sheets, the names of institutions like Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth Varanasi, Shahuji Maharaj University Kanpur, Himachal Pradesh University, Board of Education, Karnataka University, CSJM University Kanpur were being used. At the same time, according to the police, it does not seem possible that someone was executing this fraud alone. There is a strong apprehension of a racket, which is being investigated.
