Ahmedabad: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who is badly embroiled in corruption charges under the liquor scam, has tried to distance himself from it after CM Arvind Kejriwal's statement on giving shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh status to him created a furore. In fact, Manish Sisodia, who came to campaign for his party before the Gujarat Assembly elections, said while talking to the media on Tuesday, 'I am not even equal to the dust of Bhagat Singh's feet. Sisodia said that I am very young, and cannot be equal to a great revolutionary like Bhagat Singh.' Let me tell you that on Kejriwal's comment, Bhagat Singh's family had expressed displeasure and said that do not insult the martyrs by comparing them with the corrupt, only after this Sisodia's statement has come out.
According to media reports, Sisodia said ''We are only followers of Bhagat Singh. As great as Bhagat Singh, Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel were. I think we are equal to the dust these celebrities have achieved in their lives, the level they stand on. But I feel that if there is even a part in us, neither jail nor CBI can stop us. We will teach the children. We take pleasure in this, as Bhagat Singh Ji used to enjoy fighting for the independence of the country. He had a dream. Today our dream is to dedicate our whole life towards education.''
Manish Sisodia further said that if his government comes to power, magnificent government schools will be opened every 4 km. He urged the people to give a chance to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) once. For 27 years, the people of Gujarat have been watching the BJP, see us once too.
