New Delhi: Former Prime Minister of India and veteran Congress leader Manmohan Singh has attacked the Modi government for the continuous decline in the economy. Referring to the double-engine model of BJP, he said that it has completely failed. The BJP talks of a double engine government every time seeking votes. He has described Maharashtra as the most affected by the economic slowdown.

During the press conference in Mumbai, former PM Manmohan Singh also mentioned the PMC bank. He has said that "PM Relief Fund should be used to help the victims. In particular, relief should be given to those whose treatment has been affected due to this". Manmohan Singh also mentioned the killing of farmers in Maharashtra. He said, "There was a time when Maharashtra was first in attracting investment. Today this state has become at the forefront of farmer suicides".

Manmohan Singh said that "Despite the promise of doubling agricultural income, there is no hope of reducing the crisis in the rural areas of Maharashtra." In the last 5 years, Maharashtra has witnessed the closure of most factories".
