NEW DELHI: Following the completion of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana's (AB-PMJAY) four years of implementation, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Friday interacted virtually with a number of beneficiaries from various regions of the nation.

When speaking with the program's beneficiaries, the health minister stated that the Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY scheme's cashless, paperless, and portable healthcare and treatment facilities had significantly reduced the out-of-pocket costs that poor and underserved families had to pay for, which had a knock-on effect on their ability to pay for expensive and protracted illness and treatment without going bankrupt.

The government's effort to provide Health for All has been strengthened thanks to Ayushman Bharat, Mandaviya addressed while elaborating on the elements of the programme. He added asked states that have not yet signed up for the programme to do so in order to participate in the national effort to provide accessible healthcare for the benefit of all people. He said, "With co-branding of the Ayushman Cards, we shall shortly deliver the card to all qualified beneficiaries.

More than 3.8 crore people have accessed free care through the programme, and more than 19 crore AB-PMJAY cards have been issued thus far. He said that the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission's (ABDM's) ABHA Health ID will transform the way things are done in the healthcare industry.

Few beneficiaries described how simple it was to create a health ID and the advantages of having all of their medical records on one platform. They said that the health accounts are quite useful for quickly and simply identifying, authenticating, and accessing one's health details without any fuss or cost.

The health minister thanked the recipients who had created online accounts and said that the young people are the government's programme ambassadors and can assist senior residents in taking advantage of such digital interventions.
