NEW DELHI: Over 88 percent of India's adult population has been properly vaccinated against Covid, said Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
"Vaccination against COVID19 is now available to over 88 percent of the adult population in India, congratulations! Even after you have been vaccinated, you should continue to follow COVID guidelines "Mandaviya added in a tweet.
According to a report from the Ministry of Health, a total of 55,70,67,459 first vaccine doses, 48,93,11,452 second doses, and 7,58,822 precaution doses had been given to those aged 18 to 44.
Meanwhile, as of Saturday morning, India's total immunisation coverage has surpassed 193.13 crore people. This was accomplished after 2,44,45,929 sessions.
Since the start of the immunisation campaign for this age group, almost 3.36 crore adolescents have received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
