India's shooter Manu Bhakar won the gold medal in the ISSF World Cup final on Thursday. Manu, 17, topped the women's 10m air pistol event with a junior world record score of 244.7. With this, she has become the second Indian shooter after Hina Sidhu to win a gold medal in the women's 10 meter air pistol event at the ISSF World Cup. Yashaswini Singh Deswal (158.8) of India finished sixth in the final round of this competition.
Silver medal was won by Zorana Arunovic (241.9) of Serbia, while Qian Wang (221.8) of China won the bronze medal. Meanwhile, in the men's 10m air pistol event, Abhishek Verma and Saurabh Chaudhary have qualified for the finals. Abhishek Verma topped the qualification with 588, while Saurabh Chaudhary (581) finished seventh. Earlier on Wednesday, Manu could not qualify for the final in the women's 25m air pistol category at the Shooting World Cup Finals. The Commonwealth Games gold manu scored 292 in the precision and 291 in the rapid. Her total score in the qualifiers was 583.
Both Manu and Yashaswini have won the quota in the 10-meter air pistol event for the Tokyo Olympics next year. Manu won Kota after finishing fourth at the ISSF World Cup in Munich. Yashaswini achieved this feat after winning gold at the ISSF World Cup in Rio de Janeiro.
