Amritsar: Incidents of Christian conversion have increased in Punjab in the last few days. Now in Amritsar, the case of returning home by about a dozen families has come to light. Regarding conversion, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has also appealed to Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann to ban it in the entire state like Himachal Pradesh. The Nihang Jathebandis also protested over this issue.

According to media reports, about a dozen families have converted to Sikhism in Kohlewal village under Amritsar district of Punjab. These families were made Christian by the lure of money. After the efforts of DSGMC, these families decided to do 'Ghar Wapsi'. DSGMC started this campaign from 3 August and after meeting these families, they were persuaded to return home. DSGMC, an organization that looks after the management of Gurudwaras in Delhi, is running a campaign for 'Dharma Prachar' and for this, a separate committee has also been formed. Its 'Dharma Prachar Committee' chief Manjit Singh Bhoma told that these families were converted to Christianity by greed.

Let us inform you that at present there is a government of 'Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)' in Punjab and the head of 'Dharma Prachar Committee' of DSGMC Manjit Singh Bhoma requested Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to ban conversion. He said that just as there is a ban on conversion in many states including Himachal Pradesh, in the same way, it should be banned in Punjab. At the same time, he also blamed the failure of the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC).
