Chennai: There is only a short time left for the assembly elections in Milanadu. The schedule for the assembly elections has not been announced yet, but the political temperature is rising. Now the Congress has opened up regarding the removal of the idol of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation. Several other activists, including Congress MP Jyoti Mani, demonstrated against the district administration. The police have taken the protesters in custody.

According to the information, the 70-year-old statue of Mahatma Gandhi was removed by the district administration in Karur, Tamil Nadu. A new statue of Bapu is to be installed at this place. Congress MP Jyoti Mani and other party workers were opposing the action taken by the district administration. Congress party workers were protesting at Karur Light House Corner on Saturday.

Congress MP Jyoti Mani and other protesters alleged that the authorities took a decision to renovate the statue immediately. No prior notice was given for this. According to the allegation, it was done because CM could release it on his Karur tour. The Congress MP alleged that the quality of the new structure that is being constructed is very poor.
