The serial bomb blasts on Tuesday, 07 March 2021, in a military barrack in Equatorial Guinea, killed 98 people and left more than 600 people badly injured. Authorities have said that the explosion in the military barrack happened around 4 pm local time. The military barrack is located near Mondong Nukuntoma in Bata. The President said in the statement that "the explosion was so strong that it has damaged almost all the houses and buildings in Bata."

The Ministry of Defense issued a statement late on Sunday night, saying that it has been learned that there was an explosion in the arms depot in Barrack due to the fire. The statement said that 20 people have died and 299 people have been admitted to the hospital and work is being done to find out the real cause of the blast. Equatorial Guinea is an African country with a population of 1.3 million, located south of Cameroon.

Not only this, but it has also come to light that the President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodora Obiang Ngume expressed condolences on the incident. He said that the people responsible for the blast would be subjected to strict investigation. President Teodora has ordered an inquiry into the incident. He said that the explosion occurred due to negligence in dealing with dynamite. The President said that all the buildings and houses in the city of Bata have suffered extensive damage in the blast. He estimates that around 250,000 people have been affected by this.
