Indian share markets bucked the broader trend in line with Asian markets and surged over 1percent yet again on Tuesday on the back of heavyweights such as Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finance and Larsen & Toubro.

At close, The BSE Sensex closed at 48,944.14, up 557.63 while the broader NSE Nifty ended the day at 14,653.05, up 168.05 points in trade. Sensex which opened at 48,424.08 reached an intra-day high of 49,009.26 and a low of 48,399.53 points, whereas Nifty opened at 14,493.80 levels, touched a low of 14,484.85.

Hindalco, L&T, Tata Steel, Divis Labs, Reliance Industries, Bajaj Finance, and SBI were the top Nifty gainers today, up between 3.7-5percent percent while HDFC Life, SBI Life, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Maruti Suzuki, and Nestle India were top laggards on the 50-share pack. The top 5 Nifty stocks contributed over 100 points to the rally. 

Almost all sectoral indices on NSE ended the day with gains led by  Nifty PSU Nifty Bank, Nifty Metal, Nifty Media, and Nifty Financial Services which gained between 1-2 percent.
