Indian share markets started the new trading week on a steady note, opening at record high levels. At   10 am, the  BSE Sensex traded 94 points higher at 46,192 while the NSE Nifty 50 index stood 28  points higher at 13,542. Both benchmarks registered their sixth consecutive weekly advance last week.

Among the sectoral indices, Nifty FMCG, Nifty Bank gained 0.4 percent while the IT index gained 0.5 percent at the start of the session Nifty Media and Nifty Metal index opened with gains of 1 percent each while the PSU Bank index rose 1.2 percent.

Broader markets too have opened with gains today. The Midcap index is up 0.6 percent while the Small-cap index is outperforming with gains of 0.8 percent.  Yes Bank stock is in the spotlight after the bank sold 15 lakh shares of Sical Logistics in various tranches.

Power Grid Corporation declared an interim dividend of Rs. 5 per share, the stock of the company traded with over 1 percent gains.  Panacea Biotech traded weak by 1 percent after Serum Institute of India sold 438950 shares of the company at an average price of Rs. 248 in a bulk deal on the NSE.

Burger King, Rs. 810 crore IPO issue will make its stock market debut today after garnering strong investor interest from all investor categories.
