Markets: Sensex trading marginal gains; Market breadth strong

Key benchmark indices are trading with small gains during the morning session. At 10:20 am, the BSE Sensex, was up 115 points at 50,752 while the NSE Nifty 50 index was up 34 points at 15,212. Most Asian stocks are trading higher. The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, is strong.

Grasim Industries. Titan, UPL, SBI life insurance, Tata Motors were among major gainers while JSW steel, Powergrid, Tata Steel, Hindalco and  ICICI Bank were major losers.  Among stock in focus, PNB Housing Finance rose to near 2 percent after the company informed that meeting of the company director board scheduled on 31 May 2021 to consider and approve fundraising.

Shares of AstraZeneca Pharma India rose 1.5 percent after the company's net profit surged 184.95 percent to Rs 27.27 crore on 7.88 percent increase in revenue from operations to Rs 210.25 crore in Q4 March 2021 over Q4 March 2020.

Hinduja Global Solutions declined 0.50 percent. Hinduja Global Solutions announced that it is looking to hire up to 250 remote customer service representatives in Quebec to support its ongoing growth of its Canadian entity.
