Due to the lockdown, all the business establishments of the city were closed except for a few shops for the last 61 days. The businessmen were suffering heavy losses due to this. Merchant organizations were constantly meeting the Home Minister and demanding to open shops. Now Bhopal Collector has released detailed guidelines. On Sunday, the city will have a complete lockdown. Grocery and medical stores will still be open from 7 am to 7 pm. At the same time, new rules have been implemented for shops.

Actually, clothes, shoes, slippers, stationery and book shops will open on Monday and Thursday in the new Bhopal. Electronics, hardware, electricals and mobile shops will open on Tuesday and Friday. Along with this, jewellery, bullion, pottery and cosmetic shops will open on Wednesday and Saturday. All timings will be from 11 am to 5 pm. Grocery and essential goods shops will open every day.

The old city comes in the vicinity of Chowk Bazaar, Sarrafa Chowk, Lakherapura, Ibrahimpura, Nadeem Road, Loha Bazaar, Marwadi Road, Lalwani Press Road, Itwara Road. Here on Monday and Thursday readymade, hosiery, electrical, electronic market, curtain cloth, cushion cover, towels, sheets, blankets, bangle purse, wallet, crockery and all other shops will open. On Tuesday and Friday wholesale hosiery, readymade businessman, footwear businessman, crockery wholesaler, cosmetic general store and retail shops will open. On Wednesday and Saturday, shops of saris, suit-shirting and cloth, cosmetic wholesaler, wholesale electronic equipment will open.
