Considering the increasing cases of pandemic coronavirus, the government may increase the lockdown. Vehicle manufacturers are also assuring their customers that they will not withdraw from any benefits such as free service, warranty and extended warranty. Maruti Suzuki had already announced in May that free services, warranties and extended warranties ending between March 15, 2020 and April 30, 2020 to June 30, 2020 ensure that customers have access to service after the lockdown period. There is sufficient time for renewal or profit. Now the company has announced that the validity of free service, warranty and extended warranty has been extended.

In its statement, Maruti Suzuki said that the customers whose warranty period expires in May 2020 will be extended till June 2020. This initiative will give an opportunity to those customers who could not avail the previous service and warranty benefits due to the lockdown. This benefit to customers includes primary warranty, extended warranty and free service.

For your information, let us tell you that the company has also reached out to the customers to give them some precautionary tips to prevent car damage during the lockdown implemented to fight the coronavirus. It has sent more than 25 million SMSes to its existing customers. Apart from a general advisor, Maruti Suzuki has also issued a specific battery safety advisory, as vehicles will be parked for a long time. For regular vehicles, Maruti has asked its customers to start the vehicle once a month and keep the engine running for 15 minutes. For SHVS or all mild hybrid vehicles, the company has said that customers turn on the engine once a month for 30 minutes and also turn on the headlights.
