Shashank Srivastava, executive director (marketing and sales), Maruti Suzuki India, told news agency PTI that there is no change in the idea that India should have its own car. A Maruti official said that he does not think Ola, Uber have many contributions in the current sluggishness. Srivastava said that we need to wait and a detailed study is needed before arriving at any kind of conclusion. Srivastava gave the example of the American market. He said that Uber is a big company in the US, but car sales have been very good there in the last few years.
