Maruti Suzuki in India has been eagerly awaited in India since Suzuki Jimny introduced it at the end of 2018. According to a report, Maruti Suzuki plans to take off its mini SUV after several refusals. However, in India, Jimny can be named Gipsy. That's because the Gipsy brand is quite famous in the global market except for the Indian market. However, the car will be powered by similar platforms, engines, transmission and global Jimny Sierra components.

The gymnastics will be powered by the same 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine which will be delivered in the Ciaz, Artiga and Upcoming XL6 crossover. The car comes with a standard 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The automatic gearbox is similar to the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
