Bugatti Veyron usually retails for about $1.7 million which translates into ₹11.83 crore. But far away in a city of Madhya Pradesh there's a Bugatti Veyron, of sorts, that's on sale for ₹4 lakh on an online marketplace. That is 1/300th of the actual price and does sound like a deal of the century. But please approach it with caution, for it also sounds like its too good to be true. Well, the car on sale for ₹4 lakh is actually a small, old, and now discontinued hatchback, that has been modified to look like a Bugatti Veyron. If that isn't a deal breaker for you, then please hold your horses, for we haven't revealed the details yet. So, that hatchback that has been decked up to look like the Veyron is an old, actually, very old, Maruti Suzuki Zen and the bodywork it has received is not something we'd call aesthetically pleasant. But that's for the buyers to decide. Take a look at it.

Let's delve in to some more details. So, it is a 1999 Maruti Zen that has a mileage of 28,999 kilometres, says the seller. It has been heavily modified to look like Bugatti Veyron, but in all honesty, we think it fails to hit the mark, and that too by a good margin. But, in the seller's defence, the vehicle does get a horseshoe-shaped front grille to resemble the one on the actual Veyron. Apart from this, the modified Zen gets a dual-tone blue and black paint scheme, Bugatti decals on the boot, black wheel caps, and even a Bugatti logo at the front. Oh, and yes, it is a soft-top convertible.
There don't seem to be any changes to the interior design, but the car does get black upholstery with red lining. We have no idea what's under the hood of this "Bugatti Veyron", but looking at its price, we don't think there would be any mechanical changes to the powertrain. So, it is likely to be powered by Suzuki's G10B 1,000 cc engine that used to churn around 50 bhp. Since it is a 1999 model, this engine will also be missing out on fuel injection system.
This car is definitely not everyone's cup of tea. It is not a doppelganger by any standard and perhaps isn't even street legal. But the seller has described it as, "Buy and drive bindaas. Indian swagg". Nonetheless, we think, there just might be a taker for this Bugatti Veyron copycat.
