Matt Damon is excited about the possibility of returning to the world of Jason Bourne in another movie. The Hollywood actor, praised for his recent role in Oppenheimer, has been part of four films in the espionage series based on Robert Ludlum's novels. His last appearance as the iconic character was in 2016's Jason Bourne.

During an interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the 53-year-old actor revealed that director Edward Berger, known for his work on All Quiet on the Western Front, is developing a new storyline for the franchise. Damon expressed his eagerness to collaborate with Berger, praising him as a fantastic director. He stated, "I would love to work with him, so he’s working on it. Look, I’m as anxious as you are to see if this thing happens. I hope it’s great and that we can do it."

Despite his enthusiasm, Damon acknowledges the possibility of passing on the role to another actor in the future. "At a certain point, somebody is going to need to take it over. I’m not getting any younger," he remarked.

Meanwhile, Damon's upcoming project is the Netflix thriller Animals, directed by his close friend and collaborator Ben Affleck. The duo will produce the film through their production company, Artists Equity.

Damon first portrayed the CIA assassin Jason Bourne in the 2002 film The Bourne Identity, followed by The Bourne Supremacy in 2004, The Bourne Ultimatum in 2007, and Jason Bourne in 2016.
