With a victory on Sunday in the rain-shortened Japanese Grand Prix, Red Bull F1 driver Max Verstappen has captured his second consecutive Formula One championship, capping an outstanding campaign. In Japan's Suzuka, Verstappen finished the race at 3:01:44.004.

The season still has four races left, including the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, on October 23. Verstappen has irrevocably inscribed his name in Formula One history after the legendary Sebastian Vettel and Michael Schumacher with this victory. With four races left in the season, both of these two illustrious racers claimed championships. With four races left in each of the seasons in 2001 and 2004, Schumacher won the championship. In a similar way, Vettel also claimed the 2011 season championship.

Verstappen admitted that despite winning the race, it was not an easy one for him because of the extreme driving difficulties caused by the severe rain. "I'm just very happy that we got to race at the end. It was raining quite heavily and it was just really tough for us to drive," he further said. Verstappen also added, "But luckily, we got quite an amount of laps in and the car was flying in the inter conditions as well. I'm very pleased to win here, but also very happy to see all the fans and that they stuck around."

Max Verstappen, a 25-year-old Dutch Formula One racing driver, achieved his 12th victory of the year with this achievement. Interestingly enough, he still has four races left to break Schumacher and Vettel's record of 13 victories for a season.
