Lucknow: Former CM and Bahujan Samaj Party president Mayawati is furious over the case where mother and daughter attempted to self-immolate in front of the CM Office Lok Bhawan, Lucknow. On Saturday morning, BSP chief has requested the state government to be serious on this matter and investigate the careless officers. Mayawati says that the mother and daughter have been forced to commit suicide in front of the CM office, Lok Bhawan in Lucknow, due to lack of justice from the Amethi district administration in the land dispute case. Keeping this incident in mind, the Uttar Pradesh government should take strict action on it. With which the state government should make a strict inquiry against all the careless officers so that such an incident does not happen again.
According to the information, A mother, along with her daughter, turned to Lucknow on Friday. The mother-daughter, who lives in Amethi, hurt in the drain dispute and not getting justice, set themselves on fire in front of Gate No. 3 of Lok Bhavan on Friday evening. The mother has almost scorched 70 percent and the daughter burnt 15 percent. Both are being treated in the civil hospital. During the incident, spectators were making videos on mobile instead of helping. Amethi SP suspended Jamo Police Inspector Ratan Singh and two constables for not taking action on the complaint.
The lady who took this suicidal step is from Jamo police station area of Amethi. The daughter was admitted to the civil hospital. She told that some overbearing in the village hit her mother publicly in a drain dispute. When they reached the police station, miscreants reached there and the lady was thrown out of the police station in front of the police. After which an FIR was somehow registered against the accused on the intervention of high officials. The goons of the village reached her house late at night and hit them again with sticks. She said "They had no other way. So they decided to die in front of Lok Bhavan."
