Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government has made an important decision on the Muzaffarnagar riots. The public prosecutor has petitioned the court to withdraw the case against BJP MLAs Suresh Rana, Sangeet Som and Kapildev Agarwal. The UP government's decision has boosted up the political mercury of up. Now, the Bahujan Samaj Party has demanded the withdrawal of the cases registered.

In a tweet on Friday, BSP supremo Mayawati said, "With the return of the case in the spirit of 'political malice' against the BJP people in UP, such cases should also be returned to the people of all opposition parties. This is the demand of BSP," says Mahapanchayat at Nagla Maraud on September 7, 2013. The Mahapanchayat was convened in Muzaffarnagar after the killing of Sachin and Gaurav. It is alleged that the riot broke out in Muzaffarnagar after the Mahapanchayat. About 65 people were killed and over 40,000 displaced due to riots in Muzaffarnagar riots.

The case was filed against Cabinet Ministers Suresh Rana, MLA Sangeet Som and Kapildev Agarwal. The three leaders were charged with provocative speeches, violations of Section 144, arson, sabotage. Now, public prosecutor Rajeev Sharma has petitioned the ADJ court in Muzaffarnagar to return the case.
