Lucknow: BSP Chief Mayawati has termed the violence during a tractor rally by farmers in the national capital. Mayawati said on Wednesday that what happened in the tractor parade should not have happened. He also demanded the central government to repeal the three agricultural laws.

Mayawati tweeted on Wednesday morning, saying, "What happened during the farmers' tractor rally on Republic Day in the country's capital, Delhi yesterday, should not have happened at all." The BSP again appeals to the Central Government to end the long-standing agitation of farmers by withdrawing the three agricultural laws without delay so that no such untoward incident can happen anywhere," Mayawati said in another tweet.

The farmers who were on protest against the centre's agricultural laws had sought permission for a tractor rally in Delhi on the occasion of Republic Day. The farmers were allowed to rally on the designated route, but the farmers entered Delhi and made an uproar. The farmers started a ruckus near ITO, Nangloi, Akshardham. The violence took place between the police and the farmers in which 86 policemen were injured. In addition, one protester was also killed. Seven persons have been booked for the violence.
