Directorate of Medical Education's wing the selection committee has conducted counselling for admission to MBBS courses under the management quota for minority seats on Thursday. A total of 160 students were called for counselling and 92 students attended it, while 74 candidates were allotted seats at the counselling session held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai. A total of 68 candidates were absent for the counselling and 18 students opted out.
Telugu and Malayalam minority seats under the management quota were allocated on Thursday. After the allocation, there were a total of 245 vacant management quota seats available in the State to fill further. As many as 675 BDS seats are also vacant. So far, 127 management quota seats have been allotted for MBBS and 13 seats have been allotted for BDS course in the State.
The last round of the management quota counselling for the new academic year to begin completed on Thursday, the admissions to MBBS/BDS courses under the government and management quota has been closed with the Thursday final round of counselling.
