Kolkata: The Bengal CID has started the investigation of Tuesday's bomb blast in an illegal firecracker factory in Egra area of East Medinipur district of West Bengal. Forensic team has already reached the spot. Forensic experts have started collecting samples from the illegal firecracker factory and houses that collapsed due to the explosion in the nearby Khadikul village. The number of people who lost their lives in this blast has reached 9. Meanwhile, it has been alleged that the illegal firecracker manufacturing factory was running at 177 Khadikul booth in Sahda area of Egra, at the residence of ruling TMC leader Krishnapad Bagh alias Bhanu Bagh. Bombs were being prepared here in the name of making crackers.
As per reports, local police have been deployed in the village located near the Odisha border. Police have registered an FIR in connection with Tuesday's blast. Police say that samples are being collected from the spot. They will be sent for testing to find out the material used to make crackers. The CID team will also interrogate the witnesses and relatives of those killed in the blast. At the same time, Mamta Sarkar says that the condition of five of the injured is critical. The condition of a woman is very serious. The condition of the other 4 injured also cannot be said to be out of danger.
At the same time, BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari reached Khadikul village this morning. He interacted with the villagers and saw from the terrace of a neighboring building a house where there was a firecracker factory. He demanded that the investigation of the blast be done by the NIA. Shubhendu said that he and his party workers would take out a rally demanding a probe by the central agency NIA. He said that we want the matter to be investigated by the NIA. We want the truth to come out and the guilty punished.
