Meet Karnataka Congress - JD(S) rebellion Cabinet

BENGALURU: Two weeks after H D Kumaraswamy took oath as  24th  CM of Karnataka, he finally formed a 25-member cabinet . In JD(S) –Congress coalition cabinet 15 ministers from Congress and 10 from JD(S) were sworn in on Wednesday.

25 out Of the 15 Congress ministers, seven are new faces while Six JD(S) legislators have become ministers for the first time.

Congress high command's mark was all over the party's list as many prominent leaders of the previous Siddaramiah –led government were given the wader. H K Patil, RamalingaReddy, R Roshan Baig, M B Patil and Tanveer Sait were jumped down leading to protests from their supporters.

M B Patil, who led light towards the two-faced move to give Lingayats a separate religion status, took omission to his omission and threatened to leave the party. Congressmen Krishna Byregowda and Vinay Kulkarni were deputed to calm down him. In Mysuru, Sait's protestors took to streets and one poured kerosene on himself. In Gadag, supporters of H K Patil declared they would resign from their posts.

Sources said by jumping down the heavyweights, the high command intend to converse its unhappiness with the local leadership's wrong reading of the election which ultimately forced Congress to become a junior partner in the alliance government.
