Shillong: In Meghalaya, 3 MLAs, including cabinet minister Hamletson Dohling, resigned from the membership of the assembly. Dohling, the Minister for Information Technology and Communications in the Conrad Sangma government, was a People's Democratic Alliance (PDA) MLA and represented the Mayalim constituency in East Khasi Hills district. Another PDA MLA, Jason S Mawlong, who represents Umsining in Ri Bhoi district, and Hill State People's Democratic Party (HSPDP) MLA Samlin Malngiang also submitted their resignations. 

Let us tell you that Malangiang was the MLA of the Sohyeong constituency in the East Khasi Hills district. Giving information in this regard, an official of the Vidhansabha has said that Vidhansabha Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh has accepted his resignation. Party sources have said that he is expected to join the ruling National People's Party (NPP). The PDA and the HSPDP are part of the ruling Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) led by the NPP in the state.

Meanwhile, SGE Mominen, who resigned as NPP MLA on Wednesday, joined the opposition Trinamool Congress (TMC). At least 10 MLAs have resigned in the last few weeks. Let us tell you that there is a possibility of assembly elections in the state in the next two months. On December 14, Independent MLA Samuel Sangma and 3 other resigned MLAs joined the BJP in Delhi in the presence of Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra.
