Shillong: Meghalaya recorded seven COVID-19 fatalities and 521 fresh infections while 572 people recovered from the virus. Health authorities also informed that all the seven people who died had not been vaccinated. Of the seven deaths, East Khasi Hills district recorded four, East Jaintia Hills, South West Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills districts recorded one case each.
With the latest figures, the State now has 1,125 total deaths till date. There are 5,516 active cases and 60,375 have recovered from the virus so far. Of the 521 fresh cases, East Khasi Hills district recorded 238, West Khasi Hills district 80, West Garo Hills district 79, South West Khasi Hills district 44, West Jaintia Hills district 24, Ri-Bhoi district 19, North Garo Hills district 10, South Garo Hills district nine, East Garo Hills district eight, South West Garo Hills district six and East Jaintia Hills district four.
Of the 5,516 active cases, East Khasi Hills district has 2,132, West Garo Hills district 783, West Khasi Hills district 758, West Jaintia Hills district 563, Ri-Bhoi district 553, South West Khasi Hills district 294, East Jaintia Hills district 129, North Garo Hills district 87, East Garo Hills district 86, South Garo Hills district 70 and South West Garo Hills district has 61 cases.
