As per the reports by The Telegraph Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been uninvited from Queen Elizabeth II’s pre-funeral reception. The King of England, Charles III, and Queen Consort Camilla are hosting a prestigious event at Buckingham Palace for international leaders and foreign royals. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had already been invited.

The pre-funeral reception for The Queen, however, is only open to working British royals, as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly been advised. Since royal aides stated that the couple is not anticipated to attend, it is still unclear, according to the publication, why Harry and Meghan were ever initially invited to the event. Additionally, reports claimed that Harry and Meghan "looked perplexed" by the apparent blunder. The presidents of the United States, Joe Biden, and France, Emmanuel Macron, who will both be present for The Queen's funeral on September 19th, will also be at the big celebration honouring Queen Elizabeth.

Meanwhile, this isn't the only controversy surrounding the Sussexes and their involvement in Queen Elizabeth II's funeral. Initially, Prince Harry wasn't allowed to wear his military uniform for his beloved grandmother's funeral events, which led to a major public uproar since ex-royal Prince Andrew, who has been accused of sexual assault, was granted special permission for the same. Eventually, Prince Harry was also granted special permission by his father King Charles III to don his military uniform for Queen Elizabeth II's final vigil.

Even at Queen Elizabeth II's funeral procession, when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were spotted holding hands—reportedly against royal protocol—people took notice. They are no longer working royals, as was previously mentioned. "Harry and Meghan are grieving relatives and are under no obligation to follow royal protocol," Inbaal Honigman, body language expert, stated to The Daily Express in Harry and Meghan's defence.
