Srinagar: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has once again targeted the Centre after the chief of defence staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat's statement surfaced. Recently, she hit out at the Centre saying, "Repression is the only way the government has to deal with the situation in the Union Territory.''

In fact, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has tweeted, "Even after turning Kashmir into an open jail, Bipin Rawat's statement is not surprising as repression is the only way to deal with the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.'' It also contradicts his official statement that all is well here. At the same time, she added, 'What is to be done after taking stringent, drastic repressive measures such as mass arrests, voluntarily suspending the Internet, searching people (not leaving even children), setting up new security bunkers to seize bike two-wheelers?'

The CDS had reportedly said, "The sanctions imposed after the repeal of Article 370 can return to Kashmir due to terrorist attacks.''
