When Mercedes-Benz introduces the AMG version of its electric SUV EQE on February 16, the German automaker is expected to add extra power to the vehicle. Mercedes previewed the AMG EQE SUV on social media ahead of its unveiling, showing off some of its features.

The Mercedes-AMG EQE is part of Mercedes-electric AMG's fleet's performance car offensive this year. In 2022, it will be the second of six models to be released. Mercedes unveiled the AMG version of the EQA in January of this year. The teaser video displays the AMG badging, as well as the EQE badging and trademark LED taillights, on the black grille with chrome slats. Mercedes-EVA Benz's 2 (Electric Vehicle Architecture) platform underpins the mid-size SUV.

The EQE MAG will most likely be comparable to the EQS SUV, which was presented as a Maybach-branded concept car last year. It will also share several design elements with the EQE sedan, including as the bonnet shape and squarer wheel arches. It's also expected to have a lower ride height, unique rims with AMG-branded brake callipers, and redesigned bumpers with tiny fins at the front for the first time.

Mercedes has filed three-digit alphanumeric trademark registrations for EQE XXX, ranging from 250 to 600, implying that its engines would be available in a variety of configurations. There are expected to be four variations under the titles EQE 43, EQE 53, EQE 55, and EQE 63 for the AMG sports versions. The AMG EQE will most likely be powered by the same engine as the EQS 53. It will almost certainly get a dual-motor AWD version with 649 horsepower and 948 Nm of peak torque. The performance is predicted to climb to 751 horsepower and 1,018 Nm of peak torque in overboost mode.
