A prediction by the Meteorological Department on Monday says the interior parts of Karnataka will receive heavy rainfall between November 16 and November 18. Due to the surface storm in the Bay of Bengal, districts such as Bengaluru, Bengaluru rural, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Tumakuru, Ramanagara, Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu districts are likely to receive heavy rains.
“South interior Karnataka and Uttara Karnataka are expected to receive isolated rainfall on 16th November, and rainfall is expected to increase on 17th and 18th of November. South interior and coastal Karnataka is likely to receive light to moderate scattered rainfall on 17th and 18th November, while dry weather is expected to prevail on 20th of November. Bengaluru will receive rainfall on 16th and 17th November,” said CS Patil, Scientist, Meteorological Department.
Bengaluru will experience heavy rainfall and few districts like Chikkamagaluru and Uttara Kannada and Shivamogga will receive sporadic rains. Apart from the interior parts of Karnataka, Malnad region will have the effect of the surface storm in the Bay of Bengal which gives chances of heavy rains in neighbouring Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
