Social media giant Meta Platforms Inc. joined the generative Artificial Intellelgiene race on May 11, saying it would begin testing artificial intelligence-powered ad tools that can generte content like image backgrounds and variations of written text.
In a "testing playground" that the business is calling the Artificial Intellelgiene Sandbox, a select set of advertisers will be invited to experiment with the tools, Meta officials announced during a press conference in New York.
The management would only disclose that there would initially be a small number of marketers that would have access to the space.
Later in the year, Meta intended to incorporate some of the capabilities into general-purpose ad solutions after granting access to more advertisers in July.
The announcement represents the Facebook and Instagram owner's first step into releasing goods that employ generative Artificial Intellelgiene technology, which mines enormous archives of historical data to produce fresh writing, visual art, and computer code.
Since the fall debut of ChatGPT by Microsoft-backed firm OpenAI, a flurry of attention and funding has surrounded the technology.
Meta's announcement appears a day after its top digital advertisemnt rival, Alphabet's Google, said it would being offering integrations of the technology in its search, email and photo products.
Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has announced that it is testing the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) as a tool. Generative AI is a type of technology that can create new and original content, such as images or text, without human input. Meta's goal is to explore how this technology can be used to help people create more engaging and personalized content, while also ensuring that it is safe and respectful. The tests are currently in their early stages and are being conducted with a small group of creators.
