Indore: Work on the city's metro rail project is about to begin. As per the information received, it is expected to start from 15th August. In fact, earlier, in the first and second parts of the first phase of the project, there were obstacles to land, but now it seems to be moving away somewhere. A meeting of officials was held at Vijay Nagar office of Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) last Thursday itself over land constraints.

Meanwhile, some government land leased to Gandhinagar Housing Co-operative Society near the super corridor decided in the meeting will be given for the metro project. Yes, this land will be withdrawn from the administration society. The meeting was attended by Collector Manish Singh, Executive Director, Metro Rail Gautam Singh, Municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal, IDA CEO Vivek Shrotriya, Additional Collector Abhay Bedkar, Pawan Jain, Metro Rail Coordinator Hariom Sharma, SDM Parag Jain, Anshul Khare, and other officials. The meeting also informed that the metro station will come near the government middle school at Bhorasla on the super corridor and land is required for the same.

At that time the collector decided that the school would be built on vacant land nearby and the metro rail company would pay for it. On hearing this, the Executive Director also agreed. The IDA was entrusted with the responsibility of constructing the same building. Let me tell you that in the meantime, IDA land near ISBT on MR-10 was sought for the power sub-station of the metro project. Then the collector said, "The process of land transfer will continue, IDA should give NOC to metro rail company so that work can start." This was agreed to by the IDA CEO.
