Actually, the government has given the responsibility of the UMTC organization to do the DPR of the light metro and tram corridor. With this, it is being told that the proposal for the cost of the scheme is being set up in the Metro Rail Corporation. There are also reports that 'it will cost 200 crores for one km to build the light metro rail corridor'. Indeed, the tram corridor has cost 100 to 120 crores.

With this, by looking at how much traffic remains in the metropolis, a route map of the metro corridor in the same direction is being prepared. Indeed, in view of the changes and increasing traffic in Visakhapatnam by the year 2050, DPR is being prepared. With this, the government has given responsibility to the DPR of the two DPR till April and May. According to the news, the deadline for completing the work was given to the institution within 6 months.

Apart from this, UMTS delayed the start of DPR work due to the lockdown due to the effect of corona infection in the state. The government has extended the time period for this. Let us also tell you that the government has accepted the proposal of UMTC to complete the DPR connected to the Light Metro by the end of December and the DPR connected to the tram corridor by the end of December.
