MG Motor recently unveiled the upcoming Hector in India as it braces for the SUV's launch here next month. This will be followed by the introduction of the carmaker's all electric SUV, the MG eZS, albeit in December 2019 along with two other MG cars next year. Now, we have learned that the company will manufacture the eZS here too, at its manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat. ETAuto reported that the made-in-India MG eZS electric SUV's price will range between ₹25 lakh to ₹30 lakh and it will offer a driving range of 350 km on a single charge.

Rajeev Chaba, president and managing director, MG Motor India, said, "The electric car is likely to be priced between Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh and it will have 350 kilometres of range. The vehicle will be assembled at MG Motor's facility in Halol, Gujarat, starting January 2020." The carmaker is counting on its electrified vehicle portfolio as the Indian government champions cleaner transport in a bid to contend with the challenge of pollution in the country. In fact, MG Motor India intends to electrify most of its products in India over the next two years.
It is to be noted that he also said the company firmly believes that as India turns its back on diesel cars, owing to the upcoming BS 6 norms, hybrids will prove to be robust substitutes for diesel cars. Chaba said electric motors in petrol-electric hybrids will sufficiently make up for the qualities of diesel engines, including torque and fuel economy.
