New Delhi: Microsoft has acquired 16.4 acres of land in Pune for Rs 520 crore, according to real estate consultant Square Yards.
The registration documents reviewed by Square Yards reveal that Microsoft's Indian subsidiary, Microsoft Corporation (India) Pvt Ltd, has purchased 66,414.5 square meters (approximately 16.4 acres) of prime land located in Hinjewadi, Pune. The transaction, completed in August 2024, involved purchasing the land from Indo Global Infotech City LLP. The deal included a stamp duty of Rs 31.18 crore and a registration fee of Rs 30,000.
Microsoft has not provided any comments on this recent acquisition.
In 2022, Microsoft also bought a 25-acre plot in Pimpri-Chinchwad for Rs 328 crore. Earlier this year, the company acquired 48 acres of land in Hyderabad for Rs 267 crore. These acquisitions are part of Microsoft's strategy to enhance its presence in India, particularly in expanding its data center operations. The company already has data centers in Pune, Mumbai, and Chennai, reinforcing its footprint in key Indian markets.
