ClearTax, a leading online tax-filing platform, has joined forces with Microsoft to create an innovative solution that simplifies tax filing for gig workers across India. This user-friendly system, developed using Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, allows gig workers to easily file their taxes through WhatsApp.

Within just five weeks of its launch, nearly 98,000 gig workers have successfully filed their taxes using this new platform. The initiative has provided these workers with immediate economic benefits, making the tax filing process quicker and more accessible.

ClearTax also plans to expand this service to employers, enabling them to assist their blue-collar employees with tax filing and TDS refund claims. The goal is to make tax payments as easy as sending a WhatsApp message, which not only offers short-term convenience but also supports the broader national objective of financial inclusion.

This service is especially advantageous for blue-collar workers, such as drivers, delivery personnel, home service providers, and others in similar roles. By utilizing the widespread popularity and ease of use of WhatsApp, ClearTax is revolutionizing the tax filing process, making it more accessible and user-friendly for those who may not have previously found it straightforward.
