SAN FRANCISCO: Microsoft has revealed that it has produced a fresh and sizable array of animated backdrops (or virtual backgrounds) for Teams, which have begun to be made available globally. Since the initial collection of virtual backgrounds for Teams debuted in 2020, according to the business, this is the biggest update.

Microsoft stated in a blog post on Friday that the reimagined visual library for Teams has been painstakingly created to represent the people who use them and how they perform best.

In order to accommodate the millions of diverse users, the software giant has expanded Teams backgrounds into six additional categories.

The Teams team "applied a fresh lens to craft and organise the new backgrounds into six categories" by outlining a number of user demands and meeting kinds, according to Microsoft.

Microsoft Teams backdrops now come in six categories, some of which emphasise wood and light while others feature modern scenery or vibrant clouds or mountains.

Aleksey Fedorov, director of global brand marketing, stated, "We aspire to promote progress for everyone, and we're pleased to establish new opportunities for representation and allyship in our products.

The 'Avatars' feature for Microsoft Teams, its exclusive business communication platform, has been released in public preview.

The tech juggernaut claimed in a blog post that "Avatars for Microsoft Teams offers an alternative to the current binary option of video or no video."

"Avatars for Teams allows you to take that much-needed camera break while still enabling productive teamwork." With customizable avatars and reactions, users may express themselves anyway they like.
