Microsoft's AI technology will give relief to heart patients

Microsoft's Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technology are helping Apollo Hospitals to estimate the accuracy of cardiovascular diseases. A top official of the hospital gave this information on Wednesday.

Microsoft had last month partnership with Apollo Hospitals for the deployment of Healthcare AI.   Apollo hospitals enterprises ltd Says Joint Managing Director Sangeeta Reddy, "Apollo Hospitals has identified technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics for the first time to provide high-quality antimicrobial health services."

She also said, "Our involvement with Microsoft helps us to fulfill the demand for health services and maintain excellence in service in every geographical area. This collaboration with Microsoft’s path-breaking technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning will help better predict, prevent and manage heart disease in the country. While we commence this in India, we will validate the algorithms and work towards creating a global consortium to tackle multiple conditions in cardiovascular disease."

There are three million heart-related incidents every year in the country and 30 million Indians are suffering from cardiovascular disease. Microsoft said in a blog post-Wednesday, "The best thing about these solutions is that it works on the basis of the personalized health statistics of Apollo Hospitals, which are according to the Indian population." This means that the accuracy of this model is more than twice the model of other countries (if used in India) because socio-economic, biological and environmental factors of other countries are different.
