Baghdad: The US struck air again on Saturday, 4 January 2020, a day after killing Iran's second most powerful leader and top Quds commander Qasim Sulemani in Baghdad. While the US has killed a lone commander in his second airstrike in Iraq, 5 other people have also died and 3 others injured in this attack in the fresh capital of Baghdad. People killed in the latest American airstrike are being called pro-Iran militia Hashad al-Shaabi.

According to sources, Hashad al-Shaabi is another name for pro-Iran mobilization forces. Referring to the information received, the US targeted Iraqi militia convoys in northern Baghdad this time. 2 out of 3 vehicles of the militia came under the attack of air raids in which 6 people were killed. Which commander died in this attack, which took place at around 1:12 pm local time, has not been disclosed yet.

Sources say that on Friday, the US killed a top Iranian commander, Major General Qasim Sulemani, in a drone attack on Baghdad's airport on Friday. In the attack, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, an adviser to Sulemani and commander of the Iraqi militia Qaitib Hizbullah, was also killed. It is known that the United States had declared Sulaimani a terrorist. It is also said that Sulaimani, the head of the Quds Force of the Revolutionary Guards of Iran, has played a major role in increasing Iran's military influence in West Asia.
