After a long struggle in front of the world, Iraq has got the new Prime Minister in the form of Muhammad Taufiq Allahwi. Iraqi President Barham Saleh has announced this. Let us know that the anti-government protest has been going on in the country for the last four months. About 500 people have died in this. Meanwhile, Taufiq Allawi has been made the Prime Minister.Allavi addressed the protesters in a video posted on Twitter after announcing his appointment on Saturday. He said 'I got power because of you. There has been a change in the country because of your courage and sacrifice. You performed for the country. If I am not able to fulfill your demands then I am unfit for this post.

For your information, let us tell you that 65-year-old Allawi has been the Minister of Communications in the government of former Prime Minister Nurial-Maliki. He resigned from this post accusing the then Prime Minister of political interference. He asked the protesters not to step back until the demands were met. He encouraged the protest to continue. He promised to provide compensation to the families of 467 people who died in the protest and to ensure proper medical care for the more than 9,000 injured.

The main responsibility of newly elected PM Allawi will be to fix the date for the new elections, in the same way Allawi has promised to improve the economy and work for the fight against corruption. The new Prime Minister has 30 days to form the government. He said that no effort will be made by various political factions to control their choice of cabinet ministers. If political parties try to impose their candidates on them, they will resign.
